Primary Layout Engineer - Loughborough
Location: Loughborough, Leicestershire LE11
RecruitEasy are looking for a Primary Layout Engineer to work for our client based in Loughborough, Leicestershire.

Job Roles:
- Design and Layout
- Develop detailed electrical designs, including layout drawings, single-line
diagrams, and schematics for substation projects. - Specify and select appropriate electrical equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, and relays.
- Specify cable routes, sizes, and types, and design conduit systems for wiring.
- Ensure proper grounding and lightning protection systems are incorporated into substation designs.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Material and Cost Analysis, evaluate materials and provide cost estimates for electrical components and systems.
- Work closely with project managers, structural and civil engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate the electrical design within overall substation projects.
- Maintain accurate and organized design documentation, including as-built drawings and documentation of design changes.
- Provide quotes for completing primary design works.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is highly desirable.
- Experienced in substation electrical design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, or other relevant design software.
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and substation design standards.
- Familiarity with protection and control schemes.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with substation automation and communication systems.
- Knowledge of power system analysis software.
- Familiarity with project management principles.
- Knowledge of green energy and sustainability concepts in substation design.
Pay Rate: Up to £70 per Year
We do not charge Payroll Admin Fees or use Umbrella Companies to process your pay.
