RecruitEasy are looking for a Mechanical Project Manager to work for our client based in Newton Abbot , Devon.

As a Mechanical Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for the management and delivery of multiple mechanical installation contracts. You will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest technical and quality standards.

Projects are primarily based in the South West, with some nationwide projects requiring occasional site visits.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the delivery of mechanical contracts from pre‑construction through to completion
Review mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance
Ensure all contractual and programme requirements are met
Control project costs and budgets, ensuring commercial performance targets are achieved
Procure plant, materials, and subcontractor packages
Lead, manage, and coordinate project teams, including direct labour and subcontractors
Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and main contractors throughout the project lifecycle
Monitor progress, quality standards, and health & safety compliance
Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business

Essential Requirements

Minimum 7 years’ experience in Mechanical Contracts Management
Proven experience managing projects valued between £50k – £1m
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and building regulations
Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of contracts and procedures
Effective leadership skills with the ability to motivate site teams
Degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline
Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable (Not Essential)

Estimating experience
Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software
